Michael Germain is a highly experienced and accomplished ice hockey coach, evaluator, and athletic leader with a career spanning professional, NCAA Division I, junior, and youth hockey. With a deep foundation in player development, goaltending expertise, and program leadership, he brings a proven track record of building competitive, disciplined, and development-focused environments.
Germain currently serves as West Coast Scout and Director of Futures Camps for the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL), where he has played a key role in identifying elite talent and supporting one of the top junior programs in the country. During his tenure, the organization captured the Clark Cup Championship (2023) and Anderson Cup Championship (2026).
He is also actively involved with USA Hockey, serving as an Associate Coach in Chief within the Rocky Mountain District and evaluating players for national development camps including the Select 15, 16, and 17 programs.
Previously, Germain spent more than a decade as an Assistant Coach with the RIT Men's Ice Hockey NCAA Division I program, where he helped recruit top talent from North America and Europe, develop elite goaltenders, and guide the program to multiple conference championships and a Frozen Four appearance.
His professional hockey experience also includes serving as a goaltender draft evaluator for the St. Louis Blues and contributing at the American Hockey League level with the Rochester Americans as a video coordinator, scout, and developmental goalie coach.
At the junior level, Germain served as Head Coach of the Rochester Junior Americans, where he helped advance more than 80 players to collegiate and junior hockey opportunities.
